Moment
Some Audience Reaction to MOMENT at Solstice!
Just wanted to say congratulations on the new play, I absolutely loved it. I especially liked the character of the mother, she was brilliant, you’d throttle her if you were her child with her fetch and carry antics!! It’s just typical of Irish families to sweep everything under the carpet and try and convince themselves they’re coping in their day to day lives.
Hi, just e-mailing to say I saw Moment there last Thursday night with my girlfriend and we were both blown away by the production. Not sure what it was- but from start to finish we sat riveted. The stage, the performances, the story all played their part in a production that will live long in the memory. I suppose the ultimate compliment one can pay a play is to be able to answer the question-would I go to see it again- and the answer to this would have to be an unequivocal-Yes!
This is just to let you know that my friend Tony and I came home from tonight's performance on a HIGH because we knew we had just been to see something very special! We thoroughly enjoyed the play and were really LIT UP about it! We couldn't stop talking about it all the way home. Marvellous dialogue; so real. And I loved the set.
Tall Tales & Solstice Arts Centre present the world Premiere of Moment by Meath based playwright Deirdre Kinahan at Solstice Arts Centre in November 2009.
Moment
An explosive new drama from Tall Tales Theatre Company, this play explores how one one moment, one action can change lives forever.
What happens when a child is killed and how does it feel when your child does the killing?
Fifteen years on, Moment is set over one extraordinary evening when one ordinary Irish family sit down to tea. The difference tonight is that Nial has returned! Fast, funny and frighteningly real; Moment will take you on a journey through trauma wrapped up in tablecloths and teacake.
Can this family forgive themselves? Can we ever forgive a killing?
Don’t miss this new, darkly comic and ultimately tragic play by Deirdre Kinahan.
Cast includes Deirdre Donnelly , Maeve Fitzgerald, Kate Nic Chonaonaigh, Natalie Radmalll Quirke, Ronan Leahy, Alan King and Will Irvine
